限壓閥與機油泵油路并聯，其作用是調節、控制主油道的機油壓力。為了保證發動機正常工作，主油道的油壓必須適當，通過機油泵限壓閥能調節主油道的機油壓力。當發動機轉速增高或機油稠度變大時，機油壓力就會增高。此時限壓閥自動開啟，通過機油泵回油(即機油泵出油口的機油經限壓閥流向進油口)，能控制主油道的油壓。旁通閥并聯在機油粗濾器上，其作用是當濾清器使用的時間超過了更換期之后，紙濾芯被污垢或異物嚴重堵塞，循環油不能通過濾芯時，為了防止出現潤滑系統供油中斷，機油粗濾器上旁通閥自動開啟，機油經旁通閥直接流入主油道，這樣發動機壓力潤滑部分不會出現斷油的現象。

In order to ensure the normal operation of the engine, the oil pressure in the main oil passage must be appropriate, and the oil pressure in the main oil passage can be adjusted through the oil pump pressure limiting valve. When the engine speed increases or the oil viscosity increases, the oil pressure will increase. At this time, the pressure limiting valve automatically opens, and the oil pressure in the main oil passage can be controlled through the oil pump return (i.e., the oil from the oil pump outlet flows through the pressure limiting valve to the oil inlet). The bypass valve is connected in parallel to the oil coarse filter. Its function is to prevent the interruption of lubrication system oil supply when the paper filter element is severely blocked by dirt or foreign objects after the filter has been used for more than the replacement period. In order to prevent the interruption of lubrication system oil supply, the bypass valve on the oil coarse filter automatically opens, and the oil flows directly into the main oil passage through the bypass valve. This way, the pressure lubrication part of the engine will not experience oil interruption.
